The app for independent voices

For once, I don’t agree with both the Professor and, by extension, with CS Lewis. Personally, I don’t perceive grief as a form of any kind of loss in the context of myself. What grips me hard when I remember people is the harshness of the interruption.

My mum, 76 at the moment of her rather unexpected death, still had PLANS. Countries to travel to (I had to cancel our trip to London when Covid started gripping Europe), books she wanted to read, family holidays to arrange. She was looking forward to it all. Whenever it comes back to me, and it always does, even years after her passing, it hits me hard. And it has nothing to do with me, or how I, or Google Gallery app for that matter, remember her.

It’s fascinating read, as always, though. Even if I can’t quite place what it is. A eulogy? Analysis? Self-help? All of the above, maybe.
