Anyone who has read The Chronicles of Narnia can probably tell that C.S. Lewis had no compunctions about infusing Christian themes and beliefs into his fictional writing. The allegorical elements of those stories range from subtle to outright blatant. So, you may have reasonably assumed, like I did, that Lewis must have set out to tell a Christian story. But we would be wrong.
