The UK's announcement lays bare the absence of quality resarch supporting the "gender affirmative model of care... that originated in the US." That is what is so galling about what is continuing to be done to minors in the US. Gender transition surgeries for minors is our generation's version of the frontal lobotomy: an irreversible surgical "solution" to a psychiatric problem.

"Follow the science" apparently only applies if the science supports your preconceived social goals.
