Micro Fiction—From Mundane to Weirder:
He purred by my thigh, and I let my hand fall into his fur.
“What is the charge for these heathenish humans, our new lord of the realms?”
Her wickedness asked beside me, hair flocking like ravens.
“Let them eat,” he said, though no words left his feline mouth.
A man was brought forth down the monotonous, grey hall.
“What shall they eat?” she stirred with a delighted malice.
“Themselves,” he returned, as the man was pushed before our dais.
“Toe to stomach, until they can eat themselves no more,” she relished.
“My master is a witch. She will compel them—with a hex.”
And altogether it pinched: that the master was me.

I was woken by someone ringing the doorbell. 3:15 a.m.
As I approached the door, I noticed a shattered mirror. Blood all over the hallway.
Two girls stood outside my apartment, giggling. Pale as chalk.
