After being “Coach Just” since 2013 (back when my youngest wasn’t even a year old) I’m going back to plain old Malinda. While I know it’s the right decision, experiencing this final season proved to be much harder than I could’ve imagined back when I started processing the possibility at the conclusion of last year. When I recently expressed this deep grief to the district office administrator — who is also retiring in a couple weeks — she said it this way: “Well, you’ve been working with the kids. They get in your heart.”
