Chapter 1 - Glassjaw

The rain stopped late in the evening. No more hearing the moderate tap tap tapping tap upon the hood of our car as we drove through Bright Eyed Plaza to reach a bar called Glassjaw. Interesting pick for a celebration on developing soil technology to help grow our synthetic foods.

Mayor Troy Baxter and I were seated in the back of the stretched sedan, driven by our chauffeur. A thin layer of chilled cold stuck to the rolled up windows with a little breeze lingering inside. My circuits vibrated warmth despite having my blazer on and closed.

I stared out the window, seeing the buildings go by and the blurry neon lights in the long distance. Occasionally, I glanced at Troy who was preoccupied with the tablet. The pale blue light reflecting upon him. His eyes were reading something. His finger swiping or typing something.

It's not much to go by. 🤷 I don't know. The main character is female so it's told from her perspective thus saying “I.”
