There's people who don't ask for permission and elevate themselves. Maybe we as content creators stop asking for permission (within reason of course) and do what we want to create?
It may not make sense to people, but it makes sense to you, and bring you happiness.
Like I want Tape Study Series to be the introduction to wrestlers who find me and want me to watch their match and give feedback.
I did that with O’Shay Edwards.
I even praised Brock Anderson for his fine craftsmanship of tag team wrestling. Good times being a freelance talent relations with MLW that time back in December.
Sending emails, and DMs, and shaking hands at events, and giving out business cards is a way of not asking permission but doing it. We ask permission for almost everything: hey, chat, should I do this or do that? Hey chat, would you be interested in this kind of video? Hey chat, what you think about this?
And often than not, you don't create what you want, and you don't elevate yourself. Your community and old heads and fans and family would give you responses based on their experiences and most of the time it's discouraging because it's negative first, it's doom first.
It's not: try it; you have nothing to lose.
You have nothing to lose by sending an email. Sending a DM. Send a letter. Show up at an event and shake hands with the promoter. The small things count. Just do these things within reason.
