Europe is witnessing its first major Gen Z uprising.

Serbian students have unleashed a powerful movement to topple an autocratic government that’s been in power for over a decade.

This has broader implications: (1) we may see the first Gen Z election in an aging society, (2) deglobalisation is felt as Serbian citizens are no longer waiting on the EU or the US to support their fight for democracy, (3) this wave of protests is the first time Serbia’s future is shaped through direct democracy.
