Wow, Lucy Hamilton, your research is impressive. I love the way you write. ("Failed upwards" is the phrase I've been searching for, forever, about so many lacklustre politicians and people of influence.)

I didn't know there was such a pattern as you've identified, of extreme right-wing populists concealing their attendance at elite schools, but of course it makes sense. When I read, only a year or two ago, that Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles was a product of Geelong Grammar, it seemed to me to explain a lot.
