Fellow Type-A runner folk: Be careful with sticking to rigid 7-day training schedules, being married to idyllic mileage totals, or trying to fit a fixed # of "key" workouts into each week. Be purposeful—but flexible—in your approach. Identify the principle objectives. Pick your spots. Spread things out. Allow for adaptation to take place. This will involve breaking down some walls in your brain but trust me, there’s clarity once you get to the other side.
