Disney scored 4 movies in the Top 10 French box office.

Inside Out 2, Vaiana 2, Deadpool & Wolverine, Planet of the apes - The new kingdom.

Mufasa (released on Dec. 18th) has garnered 4.2M tickets sold so far.

Two of these hits won’t be available on French Pay TV nor on Disney+ until end of 2025/early 2026: Vaiana 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine.

Why?

According to the French Media Chronology, Disney+ indeed gets its movies 17 months after their theatrical release (just like Prime Video and most recently Apple TV+).

It used to look like this:

Theatrical release → Canal+ after 6 months → Disney+ after 17 months.

Without C+ in the picture, what happens now for Disney’s upcoming movie releases?

Will they go straight to streaming? Will they wait 17 months to land on D+?
