All last summer, my writing group met every Tuesday night to read our stories around a firepit. It was magical and inspiring. The conversations were elevated, and the stories became an experience.
10/10 would recommend.
We don’t know how much we’ve lost and left behind in the era of the social media black hole. Simple conversations out of doors, the way our ancestors did, forge incredible connections that no endless slew of quick-dopamine-hit posts will ever satisfy.
Yesterday, myself and two friends brought each a legend to a fire pit.
I also brought some fire wood.
My friend mixed us some Manhattans.
We spent the night talking about life and beauty, the legends of the world and Christ, the True Myth. Then, we told our tales before the fire as the Sun went down.
And I wondered then, why we don't all do such things more often.
