The most dangerous room I’ve ever been in was full of reasonable-sounding people.

Nobody was yelling. Nobody was reckless. Everybody had a thoughtful explanation for why the hard truth could wait a little longer.

That is what made it dangerous.

Bad decisions do not always arrive wearing arrogance. Sometimes they arrive sounding balanced, careful, and completely unwilling to name the real tradeoff.

Where have you seen “reasonable” become a cover for avoidance?
