Condé Nast Traveller held its inaugural edition of ‘The UK’s Top New Restaurant Awards’ last night at the Shoreditch Arts Club. Sadly, I was not invited to attend. Nevertheless, I can report that several London newbies made the list of 23 top places from across the UK. London winners included:
64 Goodge Street (French, Fitzrovia)
Akara (West African, Borough Market)
Chishuru (Nigerian, Fitzrovia)
The Devonshire (Meat, Soho)
Kolae (Thai, Borough Market)
Mambow (Malaysian, Clapton)
Mountain (Basque, Soho)
Ploussard (French , Clapham)
The Tamil Crown (Tamil, Islington)
I will certainly make an effort to try Akara, Kolae, and a few others in the coming weeks.
