The depiction of adoption in the show Shrinking (yes I’m embarrassed to admit knowledge) is horrific. It is entirely focused on this woman providing these men, one of whom is lifetimes away from being mature enough, with a baby. And whether or not they will get the baby and whether or not they want this pesky baby gestator (birth mother) in their lives or not.
