Some time ago, Megan Crepeau’s byline was no longer visible on the front page of the Chicago Tribune. Her exit from the paper affected journalism in Chicago the same way the exit of so many reporters before her did, which is to say not at all. Modern journalism in Chicago, and now throughout the country, is controlled by replaceable ideologues with journalism degrees. They come and go, but the stories remain the same.
