A woman commented on my post about why we stop doing things we love.
She wrote:
“I forgot about myself. I’m still learning how to relax.”
That stayed with me.
For years, even on vacation, I didn’t know how to relax. My body would leave home, but my mind never did. I always took a project with me.
It took me a long time to realize that rest is a skill. And when you’ve spent decades taking care of everything or everyone else, you don’t automatically know how to let go.
We have to relearn it, little by little.
Sometimes the hardest thing for women like us is believing we’re allowed to stop holding everything up for a while.
