Handle with care:

And bear in mind that no matter what illumination comes to you, two things will continue to remain unchanged: the world will not become a perfect place to live, and you will not become a perfect person. Imperfection, all around, comes with the earthly territory.

Not only does it appear evident, as you say, that we are on the verge of the collapse of the American empire, but it appears to be additionally so that we are on the verge of the collapse of global ecology. In all cases, I agree it would be wise for people “to recognize the existence of . . . the reality of the ‘invisible.’” However, all of this just goes to emphasize the cosmic bottom line: Nothing really matters.

—Robert Wolfe, Abiding in Nondual Awareness (Karina Press, 2013), 17.

Likewise this, which brings the matter to a more concrete and practical daily level:

I wake up in the morning and put my feet on the floor knowing that not anything which happens today really matters, from the cosmic standpoint. So, how shall I spend my day?

Because of this viewpoint, mine is an untroubled life. I am aware that an untroubled life is not what most of the people I meet are experiencing. Knowing that such anguish is unnecessary, I feel drawn to sharing the viewpoint which has brought contentment to my own life. . . .

When I close my eyes for the last time, the entire universe will disappear—and all its being and every one of their entire doings will cease to have reality.

So, my actions are actions without concern for outcome. There is not anything which I have to get; there is not anything which I need to give. It’s like a tree which presents the fruits of the day, without personal concern for whether the fruits are harvested or not. This is one of the elements whereby my life is untroubled.

—Ibid, 264.
