Aircon Icons Make No Sense

I live near the Mediterranean. So we get maybe three months a year with the heating on, and three/four when we use aircon. The rest of the time the remote sits in its plastic holster on the wall.

So when the hot/cold season arrives, I’ve always forgotten which way round the symbols go. Like you can never remember how to reset your car’s clock for daylight saving.

Does ‘snowflake’ mean ‘it’s winter – warm me up’? Or ‘make me cool as a blizzardy day’? It’s the latter, right?

So why is ‘dehumidify’ a drop of water? That should mean ‘make it wetter’, based on the logic of ‘give me more of what the picture shows’.

One function’s binary 0 is the other function’s 1. We need an unmistakable icon for ‘dry’. Or to switch ‘snowflake’ to ‘I’m cold – gimme warmth’, and ‘shiny sun’ to ‘it’s too hot - cool me down’.

It’s all giving me shivers and hot flushes.
