A barista at the bookstore café asked if I wanted a sleeve for my drink.

He nodded. “Good call. Keeps it from leaking onto your pages.”
Then he moved my book to the side and set the cup on a napkin like he was protecting a first edition.
His coworker smirked.
But when I sat down, nothing was wet and every page was safe.
