I vaguely remember these old ticket machines on the London Underground… I think they were withdrawn late 80s/early 90s. They look so intuitive to use, so long as you already knew which fare you needed. The world has moved on — we all just tap our phones now — but they should reinstate one or two of these old machines for the heritage joy. I spotted this one at the London Transport Museum’s Acton Depot, whose next open ‘weekend’ is 9-12 April. If you’ve never been, I’d rank it as one of the best museum days out in London.
