Someone, possibly Banksy [EDIT: now confirmed as him], has plonked this huge fake statue on a huge fake plinth in the middle of Waterloo Place. It’s right outside the Athenaeum Club, the very epicentre of respectability and the last place you’d expect to find guerrilla street art. Now Banksy’s confirmed it as guerrilla street art, it raises some interesting security. How can something this large be erected in such a public, well-surveilled space without any intervention?
