The discussion over 'AI taking all the jobs' has been bothering me for awhile. It’s not that it’s wrong, it’s that it’s besides the point. There is no such thing as a technology ‘taking jobs.’ The whole premise is designed to stop us from discussing our broader hostility to work and working people, which is the framework that is actually structuring the introduction of AI.
