One moment, someone on TikTok is swearing by Mucinex as the cure for their infertility. The next, it has 432 comments, and some of them are from your patients. This is why I started my Substack four years ago.

I started speaking with the best thinkers I could find to ask what they see before the rest of us get there. Over time, these conversations became one of my favorite parts of my job. Going to the source almost always made me feel better about the world.

The dispatches I’ve written have built a real community for me here. But I’ve long wished I could bring my readers into the room with me, to hear firsthand from the fascinating people I get to interview.
