Book Review: Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
Anyone who has read my work can probably tell that I grew up on classic poetry. You don’t obsess over cadence, metaphor, biblical gravity, and the ghosts of dead poets without it imprinting itself on your sentences. The music of language matters to me. Structure matters. Intent matters. I don’t think I’m a great poet, but I try my hardest to sound like the ones who came before me. Not those who are just coming up.
