When I read 500-page books all weekend for a movie studio, the last thing I wanted to do was stare at a blank page. I helped others with their writing and some became very successful. But I didn’t even try myself for almost 20 years.
Still, I was creative. My Dad was a fashion photographer. I could read a 500-page book and go out and take photos just fine. Different part of the brain! I had a Flickr that I just checked for the first time in years… a little bigger than my Substack. 31 Million views.
Since I’ve been married, I’ve barely picked up my camera once. I’m blessed with a partner who believes I can be a great writer. With her support, and with you — actual living, breathing readers for the first time in my life — I wrote more in 2025 than any other year of my life.
People change. Times change. I love photography. But I don’t particularly miss it. I feel like my writing era has just begun.
