Substack’s blocking feature needs SERIOUS work. Did you realize that when you block someone they can still see everything you post and comment? They just can’t interact with you. That isn’t like any other social media platform and feels kind of… dangerous to me? You can also see if somebody has blocked you because it will literally say “[So and so] blocked you.”

Something to keep in mind for when you use that feature, because I feel like that actually could make things risky depending on when and why you’re using it.

[ETA: This might be different between notes and posts, and probably different again when it's your publication and somebody else's, but I can at least confirm I've seen this happen with people I've blocked or who have blocked me in other people's comment sections. I shouldn't be able to see comments from somebody who blocked me, or somebody who I've blocked, but I always can.]
