I finally got to watch the movie Downfall this past week, and couldn't stop thinking about the scene where Hitler stands in a bunker admiring a model of a city he'll never build while Berlin burns above him, so naturally I wrote 1,500 words connecting it to the president who just demolished the East Wing to build a ballroom, wants the world's biggest arch on the National Mall, and put a 15-foot gold statue of himself at a golf course.
