Things I underestimated trying to write after motherhood (from the mum of a toddler and a newborn):
✏️ it’s not about just ‘waking up an hour earlier to write’ - even if you manage to wake up earlier, you might be so tired from a night of broken sleep, the best you can expect from your brain is staring aimlessly at the kettle
✏️ even if you do get time to write when your brain is working, you end up feeling guilty. ‘Blink and you’ll miss it’ everyone says, what if by taking this time for myself, I’m trading special moments with my children I will never get back?
✏️ knowing that even if I do manage to finish my story, land an agent and publish, how will I keep up with the demands of publishing schedule with two kids under two? Especially with the two points above 🤪
