Controversial opinion: But it bothers me how much language and sex is used in YA nowadays. I’ve all but stopped reading the genre except for a very select few publishers because it’s frustrating when half a character’s dialogue is swearing and their inner thoughts are swearing or about sex.

I know the argument is “Well, that’s how teens talk and think nowadays” and okay, fine, whatever if that’s true (which is not because I know many who don’t…), but can we at least teach teens to aspire to something better??
