This will sound harsh, but I can’t hold my tongue any longer.

There is something deeply, deeply wrong with a country that gets more outraged about and demands more sympathy for a grown man getting shot than it does for innocent children shot in their classrooms.

There’s something deeply, deeply wrong with a country that does virtually nothing to curb such violence—and even says it’s “worth it.”

There’s something deeply, deeply wrong with a country that bestows national honors on a man who spread hateful ideologies to millions.

And there’s something deeply, deeply wrong with a country that tolerates the most vile, divisive influence in the nation in its White House while blaming “the left” for inciting violence.

I’m not condoning what happened to Kirk. Quite the opposite. It shouldn’t happen to ANYONE. Not to him, not to any political figure, not to schoolchildren, not to people in churches, theaters, nightclubs, parades, stores, etc.

But that’s exactly the problem. Millions of Americans don’t give a shit about anything that doesn’t impact them personally.

I don’t know if we’re getting out of this intact, but my confidence declines daily.
