If you have wondered where I have been, I have been in the kitchen. And at the desk. And back again.
I stepped away from Substack for a while because I was finishing a book that demanded both heat and precision. Pots and Pans and Poetry pairs original recipes with poems written in traditional forms, sonnets beside salmon, sestinas alongside citrus, villanelles keeping time while something simmers on the stove. It is a book about structure in the kitchen and on the page, about the discipline that makes creativity possible, and about the quiet power of doing something carefully and on purpose.
It took more than I expected. It required more revision, more tasting, more tightening of lines, and seasoning of language. But it’s finished now.
I am back. And I cannot wait to set this table with you.
You can purchase it on Amazon (either Kindle or paperback):
It will be available at Ingram Sparks at the end of the week and at other digital outlets in May.
