Be a chem-free regenerative farmer (ie organic without the rules)
David Montgomery; “One of the things I wrote about in ‘Growing A Revolution’ was that there’s plenty of regenerative farmers around the world who are weaning themselves off of both mechanical till, a mechanical disturbance, the tillage, and also weaning themselves off of the chemical disturbance by either minimising their use or avoiding it (glyphosate) altogether. To rebuild the fertility of the land as a result of intensive farming, we need to minimise or avoid both physical and chemical disturbance in farming. Glyphosate-intensive farming, no-till farming that relies on glyphosate for weed control, that’s not really regenerative, the same way that organic farming that relies on heavy tillage for weed control is not really regenerative. Those are both degenerative practices. But there are ways to combine minimising physical and chemical disturbance. That’s where the sweet spot for regenerative farming is.”
