The app for independent voices

Life has been much quieter since I deactivated notifications from my Substack app. I honestly highly recommend it.

To grow on Substack requires consistency but it's hard to do that when your phone starts dinging from the engagements.

After checking my phone stats, I realized I get 100+ notifications a day. (I love hearing from you all! So it is a Good thing!) But it's been a bit too much for me to keep up with. Even if I just “swipe away” the notifications…the steady stream of notifications usually pulls at my mind. (And that's not including my normal life notifications).

Now, as much as I would like to, I can't delete the Substack app from my phone and stick to desktop. I work on my computer daily and mixing my work stuff with Substack stuff usually distracts me. And constantly getting phone notifications distracts me from normal life.

So I'm very thankful for this new solution and hopefully it can help my fellow Substackers in the same dilemma!

You want to be consistent? Use your phone/tablet for Notes and things.

You want to be mentally at peace? Disable notifications. Get back to your subscribers and followers at your own pace.

And don't forget to live life outside of Substack so that all your subscribers/followers can enjoy you talking about your experiences! God gave us such beautiful lives! Go live it!
