Anthropic is giving 11 companies early access to its newest model, Claude Mythos, because it is so powerful that a public release without preparation could trigger catastrophic cyberattacks. The initiative, dubbed “Project Glasswing,” includes: Amazon, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorgan, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Palo Alto Networks.
Isn’t this incredibly bullish for the cyber companies in that group, most notably Microsoft, Crowdstrike, and Palo Alto Networks? If you're trying to decide which cyber vendor to choose, why would you choose one that hasn’t had exposure to the newest threat? Won’t it create a wave of new demand for stronger cybersecurity? Yet – Microsoft is still down 21% YTD, CrowdStrike -6%, and Palo Alto -3%.
