Empathy starts with curiosity. "I care about you" is the blossom from a root planted in "I want to know about you."

If you can't afford empathy, curiosity is usually on sale. If "hopeful" feels out of reach, "in violent defense of the world I love and am part of" is usually within grasp.

Find the good in the world worth fighting for. If you can't find it, be it.
