From the pews, it appears that an unstoppable force is heading straight for a collision with an immovable object. On the one hand, the seemingly unstoppable force is the Church, personified by the likes of Abp. Tucho F. and the German episcopacy, careening inevitably toward remaking itself in the image of liberal protestantism (with acceptance of homosexual acts, same-sex marriage, womenpriests, same-sex-married womenpriests, etc etc.). The immovable object is the fact that liberal protestantism has been an obvious and colossal failure wherever and whenever it's been tried, as it's not only rejected on the ground by large swathes of the faithful in its home territories of Europe and North America but it's an absolute non-starter in much of Africa and Asia.
