If we are all gazing into the abyss of a totalizing bureaucracy we are giving it the power of our imagination.

What I see instead is a future in which a thousand flowers bloom, because the dimension-reduction of a bureaucratic state is inherently fragile and I'm betting against it. Instead we get a future in which Trickster win/loses again and creates a much more diverse, wild, creative possibility space. Think the evolution of flowers themselves. The digital world is literally made of rifts and life emerges in rifts. More rifts, more life. It looks like death to us, maybe, because we aren't the authors. But we get to be the pollinators.
