Incrementalism works. A “big bang” approach does not.

If you boil the frog slowly, it is more likely to get cooked. If you put the high heat straight away, it will just jump out as its survival instinct kicks in.

In Australia, the enemy is in it to win it which is why incrementalism is being applied…and all sides of politics (with a few minor exceptions) are singing the ‘virtues’ of “age verification” for accessing social media.

In the UK however, there is a different play underway at the moment. The incrementalism will come later…most likely under the next government of Reform/Advance UK, who are positioning themselves at the moment as the “saviours” of the British people from the menace of Starmer's digital BritCard.
