With my new setup now fully up and running, I have now started putting these words into action.
Here is how this looks in practical terms for now and is subject to change at any time depending on how Substack chooses to respond to various legislation around the world to regulate access to the Internet:
I have now disconnected my Stripe account from Substack and all direct monetisation through Substack has now ceased (and is extremely unlikely to resume). If you were a paying subscriber to my Substack before I paused paid subscriptions, you would have received an email from me yesterday explaining the next steps. If you have questions, feel free to comment below.
I will NOT be publishing any further investigations or other content on my Substack. This will now go exclusively on my website.
The only exception to the above may be video or audio that I want to be part of my public podcast feed or livestreams that I conduct with others, especially if they have their own Substack publication (and especially if Substack is the only place they publish as of now). Either way, NO show notes of any kind will be included. You will need to go to my website to read those. NO EXCEPTIONS!
If you sign-up to my Substack, your email address will be imported into my external mailing list on regular basis (currently twice a month but may start happening more often now). I will remain on Notes as long as no “age verifications” or ANY other “paper’s please” mechanism is implemented here. This is effectively guaranteed to happen eventually given even a moron can easily tell that Notes IS a fully fledged social media platform. Basically, it’s just a matter of time before the hammer falls and “papers please” is required. I will depart and won’t look back as soon as that happens!
My focus and primary effort will be to cater to the members of my private community (both free and paid) rather than shouting into the void on Notes (not to mention Twitter). My private community will NEVER have ANY “papers please” mechanism or algorithm in its feed which will always be strictly chronological (although some posts may be pinned to the top of the feed for better visibility). I will gradually start to remove existing content from my Substack starting from the content that is either the most popular at the moment or has taken me the most time and effort to publish. The first piece to be removed will be my piece on Controlled Opposition which has taken me over three months to put together. All existing content will continue to be available through my website but significant percentage of it will be either behind an opt-in wall (you will need to give me a valid email address in order to read it) or a paywall (you will need to sign-up as a paid member on the website or private community).
Any content I have on my Substack which will get designated as belonging to one of the “adult” categories and as a result, an “age verification” mechanism is activated for it by Substack, will be given top priority for immediate removal from the platform. support.substack.com/hc…
The underlying principles for any action I choose to take going forward are as follows (and will NEVER change):
I will NEVER provide a government ID to access an online platform…EVER!
I will NEVER provide any biometrics to access an online platform….EVER!
I will NOT use a VPN or any other workarounds to circumvent “age verification” mandates. I will simply ABANDON the platform and won’t look back.
I do NOT negotiate nor compromise with TYRANTS (on anything…EVER!). That ship has sailed 3+ years ago.
