Only an EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE & UNCOMPROMISING stance can stop the Internet from being completely overrun by AI slop at this stage.

I reckon we have 6 months at most.

Once that happens, the ONLY way to access online content created by a human (if at all) will be by PAYING for it as all other existing models will break down. Some (human) creators have already done that and many others will follow.

If you cannot afford to pay for content, AI slop will become ALL you get.

It is no longer enough imho to just not consume any AI generated content or give the people behind it any money, but it is actually CRUCIAL that anyone posting AI slop in ANY format (written, imagery, video or audio) is ridiculed and shamed publicly for doing so.

I personally am going to INSTANTLY unsubscribe and unfollow (probably even mute) going forward anyone on ANY platform which I detect is using GenAI or LLMs. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Not only will it send the right message but it will also clean my feed from AI slop.

I also strongly advocate supporting (financially & otherwise) anyone building tools to “poison” GenAI at scale.

If you are technically minded, there is a HUGE commercial opportunity in developing such tools. People are already paying for them and many more will be happy to pay in the very near future.
