🚨🚨BREAKING: 🚨🚨

MAJOR escalation appears to be underway in Lebanon!

Israel struck the HQ of Hizbullah in the Beirut suburb of Dahieh whose residents are predominantly Shia Muslims.

Israel has openly said that the objective of the attack was to take out Hizbullah’s secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah.

Israel’s Channel 12 is reporting that Nasrallah’s daughter Zainab was killed in the attack although no confirmation of that from any sources within Hizbullah or the Lebanese government.

As far as Nasrallah himself, Israel’s public broadcaster is quoting an unnamed Israeli source saying that anyone who was at Hizbullah HQ during the attack is “unlikely to have survived and the more time passes, the higher are the chances that Nasrallah himself is dead”.

Various Arab sources claim on the other hand that Nasrallah was not there at the time of the attack and is unharmed.

Other foreign sources (so not Israeli or Lebanese) report that several Iranian advisers (likely personnel from the IRGC Quds Force) have also been killed in the attack.

Following that, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, ordered an emergency meeting of Iran’s national security council which he will chair personally.

The Hizbullah HQ area has suffered major damage and Lebanese authorities report several dozen casualties.

Israeli media reports that Netanyahu authorised the attack prior to leaving for the United States following a meeting of the Israeli war cabinet on Wednesday. He gave the final go ahead from his Hotel room in New York (pictured).

His office announced that the Israeli PM will be cutting his US trip short and flying back home.

Included below is a clip of the site of the attack in Dahieh in the immediate aftermath of the attack. The IDF is saying that bunker penetrating bombs weighing one ton each were used in the attack.

The IDF also started recruiting more reservists with those called being told:

“We are at a new stage following the attack in Dahieh”

Israeli media have also started using the term:

The third Lebanon war.

As a reminder: the first Lebanon war started in 1982 and the second one in 2006.
