No but thanks for helping me illustrate an important point for my upcoming piece on the subject. I genuinely appreciate it.

It is unfortunate that the term “Confederacy/Confederate” is automatically associated with the CSA (Confederate States of America a.k.a. “The Confederacy”) despite the fact Confederacies existed many centuries prior to the CSA (or the USA for that matter) were even on anyone’s drawing board…or even before any European has set foot in the “new world”.

The reason why I say its unfortunate is because of the negative connotations associated with the CSA and its rise sparking the (first) American Civil war. This however is understandable.

The term “Confederacy” unfortunately invokes very negative emotions amongst many people due to the legacy of the CSA (Confederate States of America) and its clearly racist underlying ideology/belief system.

However, a “Confederacy” is simply a tool (just like a hammer or a knife) and can be used for good or bad depending on the intentions…
