The Nvidia Way

His GTC takes are welcome.

I was at a get-together at a friend’s home in Silicon Valley in 2012. One of our dear friends, a Facebook exec, took a call and excused himself. When he came back, he said rhey were buying Instagram.

The price: $1 billion.

In December Nvidia spent $20 billion cash to acquire-hire some Groq execs and engineers and for a non-exclusive agreement licensing Grok’s LPU for th inference market.

Time will tell if it ranks with the Instagram acquisition as one of the greatest of all time.

Nvidia was criticized for not having a real inference strategy so it bought one, kind of, in Groq.

As for GTC, the LPU, the $1 trillion forecast and Vera Rubin were not news.

Jensen’s aggressive push for OpenClaw was notable- asking CEOs if they are ready for what agents working 24×7 will deliver.

The world of 24×7 LLM agents/mirrors talking to each other is one that some who believe this is really AI think is the singularity.

I still wonder how that works with human society, and who will pay to run the increasing debt-financed infrastructure 24×7 for hallucination-filled interminable conversational dead ends.
