This is a huge week for media as we host the Future of Journalism Week in Johannesburg, with the M20 Summit over the next couple of days, followed by the CTRL+J Africa conference on 4-5 September at GIBS Business School. We are excited to have so many colleagues in town from across the world.

Co-hosted by our Media Leadership Think Tank and the International Fund for Public Interest Media, CTRL+J Africa will convene publishers, technologists, government, regulators, funders, and civil society to address the future of journalism and media sustainability. This is the African leg of the tri-continental CTRL+J series, following CTRL+J LATAM in Brazil (March 2025) and CTRL+J APAC in Jakarta (July 2025).
