Life has a way of slappin you around sometimes. Don't let it get you down. Good news is everything eventually changes. I remember being stuck in NYC during COVID for 18 months, totally alone, just me and my tuxedo cat, 3,000 miles from all my family, after being literally chased by gangs of hoods in East Harlem where I was unfortunately living, thinking, Fuck, man, this is never going to end. I was angry, spiritually exhausted and depressed. When I finally did go home to California it was just in time for my dad to be diagnosed with stage four melanoma. My mom and I became his full time caretakers. That lasted two years. But it also gave me the chance to get close with my dad, which I frankly never expected. And I met a woman during all this and fell in love. After my dad died we got married, traveled and moved to Madrid.
When COVID was happening I thought my life was over and it would last forever. When my dad was sick I thought the same.
Things always change.
