Make money doing the work you believe in

Major flaw in your argument here which people keep conveniently forgetting: PUBLISHING MAKES VERY, VERY LITTLE $$$$. Especially in debut novels. As we know (Google it, check the data, etc) the vast majority of debut novels sell less than 5K copies. Ergo the motivation is NOT money (which stems from a few rare bestsellers and some midlist titles every year) but is artistic control.

Who controls who gets published? Agents. Why? Because they are the intermediary between authors and publishers. No agent, no book contract. Are agents neutral bystanders? NO! Here's my deep-dive on the data: https://

*Lastly: Don't be or encourage angry feminism. Man-hatred is not cute or OK. Never has been, never will be. What society needs more of is NOT extremism and more victimhood narratives (Lord knows America is overflowing with those already) but more love, compassion and human bridges and connection. More centrism. More empathy. No human is pure, male or female. Life is complex.

Corporations that only care about quarterly earnings are the problem. Needing books to resemble other books with proven sales records is the problem. Handing over the keys of creativity to AI oligarchs is the problem. “Angry feminists” are not the problem. I am an angry feminist. The world needs more angry feminists.
