It is boring!!! I absolutely love negative and borderline vicious criticism, but this whole economy of weak pieces constructed around lukewarm zingers is so pathetic. These pieces have zero soul. When I read these viral hit pieces, I rarely feel like the critic actually cares about the art in question or what it says. If you dig into these criticisms, all you see is shallow ambition from the critic and a kind of pathetic desperation for relevance. The most mediocre novel is infinitely better than the cleverest of these hit pieces. Boring!!
