There were those who I once believed to be good people who have stayed eerily silent instead of using their voices, who have too easily leaned into their privilege and normalized the suffering of others, who have repeatedly looked the other way instead of facing this head on, who have shown that their courage and character have limitations when things get uncomfortable, who have shown that when push really comes to shove they prefer to be shoved…
