I've been doing ACL rehab for over 15 years and this video genuinely made me stop and stare.
Same exercise. Same movement.
Completely different brain activity.
One person with a history of ACL injury (red), one without (blue).
We talk a lot about strength deficits and hop test symmetry. Rightfully so.
But the neuroscience is starting to ask a slightly bigger question:
What if the athlete looks physically ready… but their nervous system is still working overtime just to keep the knee under control?
That's the rabbit hole I went down in my latest blog.
Not to throw out the dynamometer and force plates, but to add another layer.
Because our athletes aren't returning to a quiet clinic room.
They're returning to opponents, fatigue, pressure, and bad decisions.
